I just finished my script. I've heard about grants for indie films but I do not know where to start looking. After getting actors and your crew together ready to start working, what's the first step? Where do I get money for my film? How much money should I get?What's the first step to making an indie film?
You've already done it by writing the script. Now, scout your locations and get the necessary permission to shoot there. Round up as much money as you can, or string people aloing as long as possible with IOU's based on the revenues. Be prepared to lose a few friends if you go that route.
